About the job

Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international, and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.

As a Tax Analyst for the US Transaction Tax team at Google, you will be focused on managing the complexities of indirect taxes. You will be a strategic thinker who acts as a primary guardian against financial and regulatory risk. You will be responsible for ensuring that Google’s vast array of products and services ranging from hardware to cloud computing remain compliant in an ever-evolving tax landscape.

In this role, you will be a problem-solver who can operate self-sustain and think outside the box to streamline global processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tax requirements into new product launches while leveraging Google tools and AI concepts to automate workflows. Ultimately, you are tasked with mitigating exposure through meticulous audit defense, precise compliance oversight, and high-level research into complex taxability issues.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$205,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.
