The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google Atlanta, GA office and may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

Responsibilities

• Write clear, modular, and self-sustaining code for custom front-end and back-end services.

• Design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support technology lifecycle and service delivery management.

• Translate business requirements and user needs into high-level technical specifications for new solutions.

• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate third-party products and vendor-supplied applications into internal systems.

• Conduct and oversee comprehensive testing of new and customized application modules to ensure they meet specifications. Identify and implement processes to ensure system controls and compliance can be effectively enforced and monitored.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, and Computer Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Application Engineer-related occupation.

• Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, and Computer Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a Application Engineer-related occupation.

• Position requires 2 years of experience in the following:

• Writing readable, well-structured code in at least one programming language utilizing engineering best practices, including code review, automated testing, and design patterns or Software development utilizing engineering best practices such as code reviews and automated testing.

• Root cause analysis to diagnose and debug issues in program code and software systems or Troubleshooting and debugging complex software systems through root cause analysis.

• Defining software system architecture, including components, modules, interfaces, and data models to satisfy specified requirements or Software system design defining architecture, components, and data models.

• Application Programming Interface (API) development for third-party software access or API design and development.

• Development of enterprise architecture for automation of core business processes or Enterprise systems design for business process automation.
