About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team is a broad reaching partner within the Global Sourcing and Intelligence Operations team, trusted to provide and build a culture around quality product data management from concept to end of life. We employ consistent, end-user focused processes and maintain a secure single source of truth in order to enable efficiency, scalability, and product excellence.

As a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Operations Program Manager, you will be the primary team driving effective management of product data throughout the entire product lifecycle. Your work will directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of data that is the foundation for supply chain, product operations and cost management. You will work with the engineering team, product team, operations and external partners to enable the development, launch, and sustainment of the product.

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and synchronize with product stakeholders to integrate PLM milestones (e.g., Bill of Materials, SKUs, ECOs) into the core development schedule.

  • Drive PLM standardization across global operations, replacing fragmented workflows with unified, scalable policies.

  • Maintain a single source of truth by ensuring 100% accuracy and completeness of product BOMs at every lifecycle gate.

  • Identify and eliminate process bottlenecks by advocating continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cycle times for engineering changes and improve overall data velocity.

  • Modernize legacy workflows by automating manual data entry and optimizing system configurations, significantly increasing the team's capacity for complex product launches.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience in program or project management.

  • Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) within consumer hardware or manufacturing.

  • Experience in managing Engineering Bill of Materials (BOMs), Product Change Management and Product Data Management (PDM) or Master Data Management (MDM).

Preferred qualifications

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience in PLM fundamentals, including advanced BOM structuring, end-to-end engineering change management, and the governance of technical product documentation.

  • Experience working with manufacturing teams (e.g., procurement, planning), hardware engineers, and contract manufacturers to manage New Product Introduction (NPI) BOMs from early-stage through mass production (MP) and sustaining.

  • Proficiency in enterprise PLM platforms, including Siemens teamcenter.

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and executive leadership across global, decentralized teams to align on process standards and data governance, with excellent cross-functional diplomacy skills.
