Practice Customer Engineer, Data Analytics

Support local Sales teams in pursuit of business opportunities, engaging customers to address aspects of the data life-cycle.

Work with the Business teams, identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet the requirements.

Lead technical projects, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the co-ordination of supporting technical resources.

Work with Google Cloud Platform products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments. Travel as needed for meetings, technical reviews, and onsite delivery activities.

Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight the Google Cloud Platform value proposition, using techniques that include whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers and Request For Information (RFI) response documents.

You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.
As a Practice Customer Engineer, you will partner with technical business teams as a data analytics subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business issues, engage in proofs-of-concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks related to database migrations, data back ends and all aspects of the data lifecycle. You will use your experience and presentation skills to engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and persuasively present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will have excellent technical, communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

6 years of experience as a technical sales engineer in a cloud computing environment or a customer-facing role.

Experience with Apache Spark and analytic warehouse solutions (e.g., Teradata, Netezza, Vertica, SQL-Server, and Big Data technologies).

Experience implementing analytics systems architecture.
