The Rich Business Messaging Engineering Infrastructure and Operations team makes one of the leading business messaging applications in the world easy to change, hard to break, and efficient to ship. We ensure that developers working across messaging business generation and protection, including Android, server, web, wear, and iOS can move seamlessly as they deliver key features and drive the future of cross-platform business messaging. This ecosystem has a huge opportunity, serving trillions of messages to billions of users across the world.

As a Product Manager at Google, you could be working on new technologies, platforms, consumer facing products, and/or enterprise systems. The end goal will be to match you with the team that best aligns with your interests, experience, and where you will have the most impact.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.

• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

• 2 years of experience building developer tools (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

• Experience with developing test automation frameworks for Android, iOS, or client and server environments.

• Experience with mobile technologies, such as carrier communications standards like Short Message Service (SMS) and Rich Communication Services (RCS).

• Experience with developer tooling or AI Agents.
