Engineering Manager, BigQuery BeyondSQL

Drive the design and execution of high-performance components within Big Query’s execution engine, including query optimizers and control plane components.

Improve the price-performance and scale of the engine, ensuring solutions are efficient to operate, easy to maintain, and highly reliable.

Partner with infrastructure teams (e.g., Colossus, Mind Meld) and product teams to shape the future of the analytics experience.

Foster a healthy, transparent, and collaborative team culture. Be responsible for recruiting top talent, mentoring executive engineers, and improving team velocity and quality.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects.

2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
