Join the Data Center (DC) Execution team and play a critical role in driving industrial automation and efficient software development for Google's global data center fleet. DC Execution is focused on accelerating the physical life cycle management of Google’s production infrastructure. We are responsible for building a single operations platform and integrating industrial automation to ensure the rapid deployment and sustainment of the hardware that provides capacity for Google Cloud and other Google products.

In this role, you will be on the front lines of Google’s growth in AI. You will design and build the essential UI and backend automation tools required for efficient and accurate physical operations. You will help us create AI-first tooling to dramatically increase productivity and unlock new possibilities in our data centers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Simplify the DC Execution ecosystem, improving product excellence and developer productivity through architectural design and refactoring.

• Craft the future of your product through roadmap definition and strategic planning.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, and partner teams to define requirements and design systems that enable industry-leading GPU/TPU deployment time to fuel Google's AI growth.

• Provide technical leadership to a large team of Software Engineers and UX Designers, including setting direction and driving collaboration across teams in AI2.

• Work with Google data centers on a regular basis to interact with users and observe the tool in use.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in software development.

• 7 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.

• 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing/launching software products.

• Experience with system architecture, distributed systems, and full stack development.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.

• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.

• Experience in one or more of the following: data center operations, workflow automation, and machine learning infrastructure.
