A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Safety and Compliance team supports all products and accessories within the devices and services organizations such as Pixel phones, Nest products, and wearables devices. Our goal is to define and execute product safety specifications that include regulatory safety requirements and more, to influence and ensure readiness for new and upcoming safety certification requirements, and to apply the lessons learned during field incidents early in the product development cycle of new products.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will act as the safety certification team Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for optical safety including both laser and LED safety, and having responsibility for Pixel phone thermal validation testing for safety certification. You will direct in lab, including both testing and directing testing performed by others. The role requires coordination with multiple cross functional stakeholder teams.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
