• Develop and maintain high-QPS distributed systems, reliability and low-latency performance of high-QPS distributed systems.

• Lead technical trade-off analyses to evaluate competing technologies, ensuring architectural decisions prioritize long-term scalability, system robustness, and operational efficiency.

• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

• Deliver projects for Home Infrastructure. Ensure engineering quality in the team.

• Work collaboratively with other teams in Home Infrastructure in different locations for delivering projects. Mentor junior team members in ramping up in the space.

Home: Creating a home that cares for its inhabitants and the world. In this role, you will build the Google Home app and Nest ecosystem, using Gemini to enhance automation, security, and energy management. Health and Home (H&H) integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and hardware/software to deliver seamless experiences for user well-being. You will empower these experiences with scalable serving and offline infrastructure, coherent developer platforms, and trusted data services.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in Java or C++.

• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, and launching infrastructure, and with software design and architecture.

• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale distributed infrastructure, or experience with storage or distributed data processing.
