Google Cloud Storage (GCS) is an object storage system managing exabytes of data and millions of queries per second. You will be part of the GCS Security and Privacy Pillar, managing some of Google Cloud’s critical business and risk challenges. Because robust security and data privacy are top priorities for our customers, this area represents a large growth opportunity for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Own the key technical decisions, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of the services.

• Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.

• Participate in cross-team coordination with other GCP security and infrastructure teams.

• Build deep knowledge of GCS technical architecture and effectively communicate critical requirements from GCS to other platform teams. Build clarity in technical requirements and the incremental deliverables needed to accomplish key goals.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience programming in C++.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Experience with one or more typed programming languages: C++ or Java.

• Experience in or with GCP, GCS, or similar cloud technologies.
