• Lead development of innovative manufacturing processes solutions and capabilities including industry-first process definition, startup, and qualification.

• Develop manufacturing documentation (e.g., bill of materials, assembly drawings, manufacturing work instructions, etc.) in support of the new product introduction (NPI).

• Establish, deliver, and maintain the manufacturing and quality processes and standards for Google's new technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes as required.

• Collaborate with design and cross-functional engineering teams throughout NPI phases to identify value engineering opportunities and ensure manufacturability.

• Work closely with manufacturing partners in build readiness and process validation; solve complex design and manufacturing challenges efficiently to meet project timing and ensure flawless NPI launch.

The Manufacturing Operations team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience in manufacturing PCBA and box build.

• Experience using tools such as Valor and Allegro to perform Design For Excellence (DFX).

• Experience with development of PCBA manufacturing processes including acceptance testing, startup, and qualification.

• Experience in new sites, line, and equipment bring up and transfer.
