Design and user experience (UX) are at the forefront of everything we do. The job of an Interaction Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that goal to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. In an Interaction Designer role, you’ll manage complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs for billions of people around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them.

In this role, you will support global retail concepts, global stores, and the evolution of the Google retail business. As the Store Designer, you will collaborate on the development of innovative and original retail environments/programs that reflect Google’s design ethos and enhance the consumer retail experience.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Develop sample dialogs, flow diagrams, and prototypes to communicate voice interactions and design ideas.

• Create detailed comprehensive voice user interface (VUI) design specifications in collaboration with engineering and others in user experience.

• Evaluate usability and audio consistency of existing dialog flows and recommend design changes.

• Create guidelines, reference artifacts, and resources for third-party developers to assist in VUI design and prompt writing.

• Develop and advocate user interface design best practices and guidelines to ensure a consistent brand experience for users across Google.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 6 years of conversation design experience in product design or UX design.

• 4 years of AutoCAD experience managing projects in data center construction or commercial construction.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.
