Whether understanding and solving their online content concerns, navigating within global legal frameworks, or writing and enforcing worldwide policy, the Trust & Safety team is on the frontlines of enhancing the YouTube experience, building internet safety, and protecting free speech in our ever-evolving digital world.
As an Enforcement Detection Analyst on the YouTube Trust and Safety team, you will be directly responsible for ensuring that we effectively identify and remove disruptive content and users as quickly as possible, in an environment where hundreds of hours of new content is uploaded every minute, globally.
In this role, you may be exposed to graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content during team escalations in line with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. This role may require on-call work weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$153,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
-
Develop and implement strategies and solutions to enforce YouTube content policies at scale. Leverage Machine Learning (ML), as appropriate.

Collaborate closely with stakeholders and partners in engineering, product and policy to drive anti-abuse solutions involving and impacting various cross-functional areas.

Provide rapid incident response for abuse problems, operating separately. Analyze and draw conclusions on root-causes and define and implement mitigation step.

Learn technical concepts and systems and deliver meaningful results using them. Communicate technical results and methods clearly.

Design and refine prompts for Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve their accuracy in identifying and classifying abusive content and behavior.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
-
1 year of experience in data analysis using SQL, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.

1 year of experience in anti-abuse or trust and safety operations.

Experience working with large language models (LLMs).
Preferred qualifications
-
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to gather requirements, explain models and iterate to make improvements.

Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills with an experience in making operational improvements and solving problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
