With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
-
Conduct tuning, development and deployment of advanced 3A strategies, ensure they meet rigorous image quality targets across various capture conditions.

Act as the primary technical owner for diagnosing, debugging, and resolving complex 3A-related image quality issues identified during mass production (MP) testing and from in-market customer escalations.

Collaborate with architecture and research teams to analyze, adapt, optimize, and deploy specialized Pixel imaging solutions onto novel hardware pipelines for emerging XR platforms.

Develop and refine comprehensive image quality test plans and tuning methodologies (both objective and subjective) to validate algorithm performance for new sensor technologies and novel ISP pipelines.

Design and validate 3A performance within complex camera operations, including multi-frame processing and videos.
Minimum qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience in coding with a general purpose programming language (e.g. C/C++).
-
3 years of experience in image processing.
-
2 years of experience in camera tuning.
Preferred qualifications
-
Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with 3A algorithms (Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance, Auto Focus) and core camera calibration concepts (e.g., lens shading, defect correction).

Experience with imaging systems development (cameras or displays) and image processing.
-
Experience with System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures and with camera subsystems on platforms like Qualcomm, Ambarella, or similar.
-
Understanding of the 3A and image signal processing (ISP) pipeline, including key blocks related to 3A.

Ability to debug complex, system-level issues that span hardware, firmware, and software.
