From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

As the UX Designer, you will help revolutionize gaming on Google Play, directly influencing core business. You'll collaborate with a team of UX, product managers, and engineers to craft engaging experiences that meet the needs of users worldwide.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally and cross-team to support multidimensional pieces of work across games experiences.

  • Deliver craft and excellence through the use of user-centered principles, methods, and tools, paying close attention to the tapestry of design systems and patterns across the broader games product landscape.

  • Prioritize work while managing stakeholder relationships and expectations across a range of work streams.

  • Contribute to an environment where every team member feels supported and comfortable being their authentic self.

  • Build relationships with peers and leaders inside and outside of the team to drive user experiences that are cohesive and well-informed.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

  • Experience designing for consumer-facing mobile applications.

  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional organization.

  • 1 year of experience leading design projects.

  • Experience leveraging AI driven design.

  • Experience or interest in the gaming industry.

  • Excellent interaction and visual design execution skills, with knowledge of how to integrate illustration and motion.
