Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience with Network Connectivity.

  • Experience with Fiber, Rack, Space, Power, or Land Acquisition, such as OSP Easements and Right of Ways.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in managing large, complex, fiber construction projects with robust knowledge of inside and outside plant fiber optic network infrastructure.
  • Experience working with permitting agencies, and in selecting, hiring and managing contractors; including managing the bidding processes, providing oversight of financial analytics of each bid, and negotiation terms and conditions of any contractual arrangements.
  • Experience with creating network drawings, route maps and scopes of work.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The GNA Americas team's mission is to secure network infrastructure for the Google Cloud and Production network. Our team includes subject matter experts that are comfortable designing network solutions that involve dark fiber, colocation space, and cable landing stations. We structure deals to acquire existing network or build new assets to meet the needs of the business. Technical Program Managers are responsible to interface with the internal teams and external vendors in order to deliver these complex solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly during the lifecycle of network orders for space and power, fiber optic, and wavelength services.
  • Developing and growing commercial relationships with contractors and vendors. This includes developing plans, negotiating contracts, and overseeing fiber construction projects, and PoP build-out schedules, along with ensuring adherence to contract specifications, etc.
  • Develop and manage bid processing across multiple vendors, evaluate alternatives and develop cost estimates for project-specific feasibility studies.
  • Prepare and review drawings, maps, scopes of work and other materials, as needed, to clearly describe projects to external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Draft and execute space and power, fiber optic, and wavelength service orders under existing master agreements. Arrange and manage fiber construction projects for new lateral and riser builds.
