RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) is looking for an attorney with asset management experience (e.g. distribution of registered investment companies (including mutual funds, ETFs and closed end funds), separately managed accounts and model portfolios through broker-dealers, registered investment advisers and technology platforms and related investment advisory and/or private fund matters. The role will be within the Asset and Wealth (AWM) legal team and will focus on the distribution and marketing of registered funds, separately managed accounts and model portfolios which generally invest (directly or through investments in funds) in securities in the public markets (equity and debt as well as other asset classes such as credit, real estate, infrastructure and impact investing). The attorney will also support various portfolio management teams on negotiating investment management agreements with large institutional clients. The attorney will also support various strategic initiatives related to the public investing business of GSAM and the Third-Party Wealth business of GSAM. Primary responsibilities also involve identification of legal and reputational risks, managing external counsel and involvement with relevant committees. The AWM legal team provides ongoing support with respect to other advisory, regulatory and asset management issues as well. Given the fundamental developments in regulations globally applicable to the firm's businesses and the markets that it operates, a key component of the role will also include contributing to the analysis of, and formulation of strategic responses to, shifting legal and regulatory frameworks.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• 4+ years related legal experience in a well-regarded law firm or an in-house role
• Working knowledge of Investment Advisers Act
• Outstanding law firm and law school credentials
• Thought leader; strong analytical skills; sound judgment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project and time management skills
• Motivation to expand skill set and excel in a challenging business environment
• Team player; adept at developing interpersonal relationships
