External Investing Group (XIG)

XIG provides clients with investment and advisory solutions across leading hedge fund managers, private credit funds, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies, fixed income strategies and ESG (impact) strategies across all asset classes. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, co-investments, secondary-market investments and seed-capital investments. With over 400 professionals across 13 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs’ market insights and risk management expertise. Union Bridge Partners

Union Bridge Partners is an opportunistic co-investment strategy that invests alongside the world’s premier private credit and hedge fund managers in their high-conviction credit and special situations positions. The strategy has a flexible mandate and invests across public and private markets to identify situations that offer an attractive combination of risk and reward at any given time. The strategy seeks equity-like returns with credit-like risks in a variety of financial instruments across the capital structure including all forms of corporate debt (e.g., senior, subordinated, convertible and preferred), structured products and equity. Union Bridge sources co-investments from external alternative investment managers on the XIG platform. The investment team is composed of fundamental, bottom-up research-driven investors. Union Bridge Partners I is a drawdown fund with a six-year target fund life and began its investment period in January 2024. Union Bridge Partners II launched in January 2026 and is currently fundraising.

The Role

We are looking for an Associate to join the Union Bridge Partners investment team with a focus on corporate credit and special situations investments. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the team’s co-investments across corporate credit, regions and industries. The role will provide the applicant with an opportunity to develop their investment and leadership skills, and expand their industry relationships by leveraging the global network of premier alternative managers on the XIG platform that Union Bridge Partners typically co-invests alongside.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental research on investment opportunities, including due diligence and financial modeling, drafting investment memoranda, and making investment recommendations to the Union Bridge Partners investment committee
• Manage deal execution, ongoing investment monitoring, and realizations
• Develop relationships with external alternative managers to source investment opportunities

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in buyside investing roles in credit markets is strongly preferred but candidates with a banking background or research analyst background in credit will also be considered
• Preference for experience in high yield, leveraged loans, distressed credit or special situations
• Passion for investing with an interest in complex credit investments and understanding of relative value
• Strong accounting, financial modeling, and corporate valuation skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Outstanding record of professional and academic achievement
• Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150,000-$225,0000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
