Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end physical design execution: floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and signoff.
  • Own block and/or full-chip implementation for high-performance ASICs in advanced technology nodes
  • Drive timing closure, power optimization, and area efficiency across multiple design iterations.
  • Develop and refine physical design methodologies, flows, and automation scripts
  • Perform static timing analysis (STA), signal integrity (SI), IR drop, and electromigration (EM) analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with RTL, verification, and layout teams to ensure design feasibility and optimal implementation.
  • Debug and resolve complex physical design and signoff issues.
  • Work with EDA vendors and foundries to enable best-in-class design practices.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in ASIC physical design
  • Proven track record of successful tapeouts in advanced nodes
  • Deep expertise in: Floorplanning and hierarchical design
  • Placement and Optimization
  • Clock tree synthesis
  • Routing
  • Static timing analysis and Physical verification
  • Strong experience in industry standard EDA tools: (e.g Synopsys ICC2, Primetime, Cadence Innovus)
  • Solid understanding of timing closure, signal integrity, power analysis, and physical verification
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g TCL, python, perl)
  • Experience developing or improving physical design flows and automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiar with multi-die and high speed interfaces
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
