Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end physical design execution: floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, and signoff.
- Own block and/or full-chip implementation for high-performance ASICs in advanced technology nodes
- Drive timing closure, power optimization, and area efficiency across multiple design iterations.
- Develop and refine physical design methodologies, flows, and automation scripts
- Perform static timing analysis (STA), signal integrity (SI), IR drop, and electromigration (EM) analysis.
- Collaborate closely with RTL, verification, and layout teams to ensure design feasibility and optimal implementation.
- Debug and resolve complex physical design and signoff issues.
- Work with EDA vendors and foundries to enable best-in-class design practices.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ASIC physical design
- Proven track record of successful tapeouts in advanced nodes
- Deep expertise in: Floorplanning and hierarchical design
- Placement and Optimization
- Clock tree synthesis
- Routing
- Static timing analysis and Physical verification
- Strong experience in industry standard EDA tools: (e.g Synopsys ICC2, Primetime, Cadence Innovus)
- Solid understanding of timing closure, signal integrity, power analysis, and physical verification
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g TCL, python, perl)
- Experience developing or improving physical design flows and automation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical projects
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiar with multi-die and high speed interfaces
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
