Our Design and Technology Enablement teams are working on the development of a broad portfolio of semiconductor technologies ranging from 350 nm down to 12nm including FD-SOI, RF, High-Voltage, and automotive applications.
Summary of Role:
This position is for a Principal Device modeling & characterization engineer who will primarily work on the digital/analog/RF compact device model development with a focus on automation and efficiency enhancement, and with potential to develop into a project lead.
Essential Responsibilities include:
- Work on spice model development project covering digital/analog/RF for GF feature rich technologies to meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standard.
- Collaborate with in-house ML experts and central engineering team to enhance model efficiency for digital/analog/RF applications.
- Drive best practices and standardization in data selection, model extraction, QA/ validation & circuit benchmarking across technology platforms.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Device Model Characterization Lab/ PDK/ Device/ Process Integration/ Design Manual/ Test chip Design Layout) to executive PDK/model related projects & resolve PDK/model related issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in spice modeling techniques and incorporate them into the development process.
- Communicate effectively with team members and provide regular updates on project progress.
- Actively participate in customer engagement and provide technical support on customers' queries on device compact models & help to resolve model related issues in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications:
- Education – BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics plus a strong passion for advanced PDK/Modeling/device development
- Language Fluency
- English (Written & Verbal)
- Fundamental knowledge of semiconductor device physics related to compact modeling of different types of devices
- Understanding of semiconductor device noise and matching behaviors
- Coding skills in Python, Perl or other computing languages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior related device or model experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong planning & organizational skills
- Experience in SPICE model generation and QA flow
- Experience in test structure layout of individual devices and arrays
- Excellent verbal communication skills and technical writing skills
