Key Responsibilities
- Perform design and layout of photonic devices, circuits and subsystems for next generation of Optical Engines
- Perform advanced optical, thermal, and RF modeling and simulations to guide design decisions and technology development
- Evaluate, debug and refine fabricated photonic devices and circuits based on characterization results
- Contribute to design reviews, documentation, and methodology improvements
- Contribute to IP generation and technology roadmaps
- Collaborate with other teams to enable control and integration of photonic circuits into advanced systems
Required Qualifications
- MSc, or PhD in Electronics and Communication Engineering or a relevant discipline with focus on Silicon Photonics or Integrated Optics
- 3+ years of relevant experience in silicon photonics or closely related domains
- Solid background in Physics, Electromagnetics and Integrated Optics
- Hands-on experience in design and layout of passive and active photonic devices, circuits and subsystems
- Strong mathematical and computational modeling skills using Matlab or Python
- Familiar with photonics design and simulation tools e.g. Lumerical, Tidy3d, etc.
- Solid understanding of silicon photonics fabrication, packaging and testing methods
- Experience with high-speed photonic devices and subsystems is a plus
