Summary of Role:

Global Foundries is looking to hire Equipment Maintenance Technicians in the Litho/Photo module to sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibility of resolving equipment and process issues. Technician positions are hourly shift positions nights working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. Global Foundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Essential Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, control, and qualify 200 mm semiconductor equipment
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance activities
  • React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
  • Process wafers using defined procedures
  • Perform visual inspections (quality check)
  • Recover from process and tool interruptions
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
  • Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, and other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Other activities assigned by manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Electrical or mechanical, one of the following:
  • 2-year technical degree and 4 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years of relevant military experience and 4 years of relevant experience
  • 6 years of relevant experience (automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, telecommunications, electrical work, etc)
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal travel
  • Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
  • Basic reading and writing comprehension skills
  • Basic computer navigation skills - (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook)
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
  • Able to work in a standing position for an extended period of time (during a 12-hour shift)
  • Able to lift equipment and tools when performing maintenance activities (above 50lbs requires a two-person lift)
  • Flexible and willing to work any shift (3-4 days alternating weeks during day or night shift)

Preferred Functions

Skills:

  • Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out-of-Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
  • Develop & enhance operating procedures
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement projects, learning and skills development
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics / blueprints / electrical diagrams
  • Experience utilizing basic hand tools and quality workmanship principles
  • Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques
  • Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - associate degree in engineering technology, military equivalent, trade equivalent, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience – 4+ Years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing
  • Project management skills - i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

Alternating Week Shift Schedules:

  • Shift Week 1 Week 2
  • N1 (nights B) 7:00PM to 7:30AM Week 1: Sunday to Tuesday + Saturday Week 2: Sunday to Tuesday
  • Shift schedules are subject to change

Expected Salary Range

$48,200.00 - $83,200.00
