Summary of Role:

Global Foundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts. The Fab9 physical vapor deposition (PVD) process module is seeking a motivated Sr. Process Engineer to become part of our 200mm Fabricator team, fully on site, at Fab9 in Essex Junction, VT. This Mon-Fri daytime position will sustain, improve, and own existing PVD processes as well as develop new ones. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the Applied Materials Endura/Centura platform with two plus years of semiconductor fab experience.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Level ownership and line sustaining for existing PVD processes
• Learn and work with Fab9 systems and PVD processes & tools, while balancing quality, cost and delivery to meet and exceed output standards, product disposition for non-process of record events
• Collaborate with the equipment teams to improve deliverable targets, SPC (statistical process control), and tool qualifications
• Work with the integration, characterization and development teams to achieve objectives
• Collaborate with the development teams on new technologies and features
• Reduce Cycle Time & Cost for PVD processes
• Increase yield for PVD processes
• Create, execute and improve standard work
• Coordinate information exchange and build working relationships with co-workers, managers, other modules and support groups to accomplish tasks and solve problems. This will include initial time running tools to learn the area and develop a rapport with the manufacturing team
• Communicate and collaborate with co-workers within and outside the department
• Work in a clean room environment wearing gloves, other Personal Protective Equipment, including a clean room suit, up to 8hrs per day

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs
• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

• Education – bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical preferred but not required), materials science, or related technical discipline
• Experience – Minimum 2 years of relevant semiconductor experience
• Fluency in English Language - both Written & Verbal
• Ability to have a positive influence in a collaborative team environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects, taking initiative to drive solutions to problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education - master's degree in chemical engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
• Experience - 3+ years relevant PVD process engineering experience
• Competency in 8D problem solving
• Experience in Lean manufacturing processes
• Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing equipment & Global Foundries' systems in Essex, VT

Expected Salary Range

$69,000.00 - $145,800.00
