Description:

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard -from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This isn't a role for those looking for an easy path-it's for those who embrace change, push through obstacles, and take ownership of complex problems. While there will be long days and moments that test your resilience, you'll find purpose in your work, flexibility to prioritize your family, and the support of a people-first culture. If you're ready to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

WHY: The purpose of this role is to strengthen Program Management Office (PMO) execution by applying consistent processes, improving visibility, and supporting disciplined delivery of manufacturing electrical commitments.

WHAT: As a Program Manager, you will coordinate and integrate cross-functional deliverables, track timing and risks, and ensure clarity of ownership to keep assigned programs and initiatives on schedule and aligned. Your work helps teams stay organized, informed, and execution-focused.

HOW: Supporting the organization to make it happen for our customers.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Apply PMO processes and standard work to ensure visibility, predictability, and consistent execution of assigned program deliverables.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams-including Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Software, Vehicle PMO, and Product Engineering-to align timing, risks, and dependencies.

  • Innovate and modernize PM practices by leveraging automation, AI, and digital tools to streamline reporting, improve transparency, and reduce manual effort across the organization.

  • Identify and escalate risks early, ensuring clarity in ownership and follow-through to maintain program momentum.

  • Contribute to PMO maturity by documenting lessons learned, improving processes, and sharing best practices across teams.

  • Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future organizational and industry challenges.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 3+ years of professional experience, with demonstrated responsibility for coordinating or driving complex workstreams, program deliverables, or multi-team initiatives- whether in manufacturing, engineering, software, operations, or similar environments.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate cross-functional workstreams with clarity and follow-through.

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across functions with competing priorities.

  • Strong communication skills-able to summarize complex information clearly for all levels of the organization.

  • Alignment with GM Behaviors and a commitment to a collaborative, people-first culture.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience applying or helping develop PMO frameworks, governance models, or standardized processes.

  • Experience using Jira, Jira Align, or similar Agile/portfolio management tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to modernize program management through automation, AI, and digital tools.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing electrical systems, SDV architectures, or control module reflash processes.
