The Role

The SGM Software Product & Engineering Deputy Director is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the end-to-end product delivery and lifecycle of SGM’s Intelligent Cockpit. This leader serves as a bridge between customer-centric needs and technical execution. You will guide the roadmap for both the domestic China market and SGM’s global export expansion, ensuring that our Features and AI-powered Features are innovative, technically feasible, and compliant across diverse global regions.

  • Design & UX Focus: Work closely with UX/UI designers to develop intuitive and compelling user interfaces, ensuring technical capabilities translate into world-class digital experiences.
  • Hands-on Product Evaluation: Regularly engage with the product directly inside the vehicle to assess HMI and system performance from a user’s perspective.
  • Orchestrate AI Integration: Maintain a strong understanding of AI implementation flows (e.g., edge-to-cloud) to evaluate the feasibility of features against hardware constraints and manage the feature roll-out.
  • Lead Export Initiatives: Navigate global expansion complexities, ensuring cockpit ecosystems are optimized for international markets and diverse user needs.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate progress and plans clearly to a diverse group of stakeholders, including executives, customers, and partners, fostering a culture of transparency.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Extensive Leadership Experience: Deep background in digital products, specifically within Intelligent Cockpit or complex automotive software.
  • Technical & Architecture Fluency: Comfort with vehicle E/E architecture and SoC capabilities; ability to understand the high-level data flows between hardware and cloud.
  • AI Knowledge: Familiarity with AI/ML capabilities and the hardware required to support them (e.g., latency, memory bandwidth).
  • Collaborative Influencer: Proven ability to build relationships and lead through influence in a high-velocity, cross-functional environment.
  • Regional Expertise: Experience with Chinese OEMs and the local tech ecosystem is highly valued.
  • Global Mindset: The ability to adapt China-led innovation for a variety of global cultures and markets.
  • Technical Voice: While not a developer, the ability to challenge technical trade-offs and speak the language of engineering.
  • Operational Commitment: A "hands-on" approach to quality, ensuring the final vehicle experience meets the highest standards.
