Description
Are you a highly skilled designer with a passion for creating innovative, ergonomic, and visually striking seating solutions? Based in our Warren, Michigan Design headquarters, where the fusion of Art, Design, and Technology come together, General Motors North America offers exciting opportunities for creative seat designers to shape the interior experience of our vehicles. Working across our Advanced and Production studios, you will contribute to the development of seats for a variety of vehicle platforms, pushing the boundaries of comfort, style, and functionality.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop innovative seat designs and concepts for production vehicles and mobility solutions through sketches and digital tools, including 2D and 3D modeling
  • Collaborate regularly with engineering, materials, manufacturing, and sculpting teams to refine and realize seat concepts
  • Consider user comfort, safety, and aesthetics from a big-picture perspective, creating provocative and forward-looking seating solutions
  • Offer insights and guidance to leadership, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and materials to inform and inspire your designs
  • Present your ideas confidently to management and leadership, challenging conventions and exploring new possibilities in seat design
