We are seeking an Experience Data Analyst to join Blue Buffalo’s Performance & Optimization Team and report directly to the Performance & Optimization Manager. In this role, you will leverage your passion for data and consumer (Pet Parent) experiences to drive deep analyses and a clear understanding of the consumer (Pet Parent) experience identifying trends in consumer (Pet Parent) behaviors. You will generate insights and identify opportunity areas in the consumer (Pet Parent) journey to better engage our consumers (Pet Parents) across the moments that matter. As a champion for experience insights, you will apply your analytical skills to model data and your critical thinking and communication skills to interpret, communicate, and share your findings in a digestible manner to the broader Experience Organization. Providing actionable insights based on your findings and interpretation of the data will be critical to driving the business forward and enhancing the consumer (Pet Parent) experience. Essential Functions Conduct hands-on advanced analytics using multiple data sources originating from different applications and systems to tell a data-driven story that informs and directs the development of Experience Strategies to meet business objectives. Analyze and report on offer performance tied to experience strategies. This includes calculating key KPIs, evaluating tests and various user flows, and recommending steps to improve results in the future. Lead cohort analysis to measure consumer (Pet Parent) engagement and generate insights to improve user experience and engagement Run consumer (Pet Parent) journey models and analysis across experience programs to identify ideal user flow(s) Responsible for analyzing key experience metrics, translating analytics into insights and making recommendations for offers and test and learn strategies. Join, normalize, aggregate, and transforms data from raw to consumable form; review data and performs analysis to make informed data-driven recommendations to continuously improve consumer (Pet Parent) experience efforts. Provide strategic insights derived from marketing, experience and sales data that drive investment and consumer (Pet Parent) experience decisions. Collaborate Partner with Experience Strategists and other Experience team members to develop consumer (Pet Parent) strategies informed by data and insights. Partner with analytics peers to understand segment needs and report on health of experience efforts. Collaborates with Experience Strategists to review and analyze consumer experience data, market research and the results of marketing programs to provide recommendations on adjusting experience strategy/tactics, to increase sales/transactions, to achieve marketing goals, and to maintain awareness of changing market and competitive conditions. Partner with analytics peers, experience peers and channel leads to monitor key experience metrics and performance; run data analyses to uncover and diagnosis root-cause and provide recommendations for improvement. Define data requirements and analyses needed to support the evolution of experience platforms and successful in-market performance of marketing initiatives, collaborating with Consumer (Pet Parent) Experience and Engagement teams. Collaborate with analytics peers to develop measurement frameworks that support decision making across the Experience org and drive enhancements to the consumer (Pet Parent) experience. Provide input to data architects to define IT / Mar Tech data requirements to support key business metrics and KPIs. Other Responsibilities as Requested Understand and monitor the competitive landscape for consumer retention marketing. Qualifications Bachelors Degree required, statistics, econometrics or research preferred Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a data analytics role, preferably working in user flow analysis or with CX&UX data analysis experience Data-driven orientation and the ability to leverage data strategically to link back to the higher-level business objective Ability to synthesize large amounts of information/data and translate into an easily understood story, with the ability to understand the important balance between art and science Excellent behavioral and performance data-collection and analysis skills, e.g. designing, conducting, and analyzing numerous types and sources of data Working with large amounts of data and summarize down to meaningful levels Proficient in SQL Knowledge of marketing technology tools (ESP, DMP, DSP, etc.) and delivery channels Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations Hands-on experience and proficiency of data analytics technology including MAP, Tableau, BI tools and predictive/web analytics tools Excellent communication skills: this role requires regular interaction with team leads from across the company – ability to communicate complex data concepts in ways that marketing leaders and other functions will understand Passionate about data-driven decision making and agile marketing mindset Strong troubleshooting skills, tenacity and resilience; ability to self-learn on the fly Must be able to work in an environment with free-roaming companion pets Preferred Qualifications Highly collaborative with exceptional communication skills - written and verbal Internal consulting skills; ability to facilitate consensus across multiple stakeholders Demonstrated partnership with cross-functional teams Goal oriented, business-focused Positive attitude, leadership qualities, and flexible team-oriented approach to working with others Ability to translate strategy into tactical executions Proficiency in Web Analytics tools (Google Analytics, Cray Egg, etc.) Proficiency in MDM and CDP tools (SFDC C360, Reltio, etc.) Proficiency in Marketing Communication tools (SFMC, Adobe, etc.) Knowledge of modeling software, e.g., R, SAS, etc. Strong attention to detail COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
