
Associate Manager, Brand Insights - Blue Buffalo
About the role
Blue Buffalo is seeking an Associate Manager to support the Brand Insights pillar who will be responsible for leading core brand research including (but not limited to) brand equity, social listening, media receptivity, consumer segmentation, creative development, communications testing, brand positioning research, and building pet parent empathy across the organization. The Associate Manager must be able to mine and analyze data, surfacing insights and strategic recommendations to key stakeholders to help inform various parts of the business. You will work as part of a high energy, innovative team that turns data into actionable insights that help deliver best in class pet parent experiences. We're looking for someone who continuously raises the bar by inventing creative solutions, developing new measurement plans, and can identify opportunities by analyzing various types of data. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Understand brand initiatives and proactively identify opportunities and insight needs with foresight to address key strategic questions that can be answered through research Design, coordinate and execute strategic qualitative and quantitative research projects. Plan and field primary research projects involving a wide range of methodologies, such as conjoint, maxdiff, IDIs, and focus groups Identify and implement new and innovative research techniques to address business needs. Oversee vendor relationships, managing scope, budget, and deliverables Analyzes data and uses storytelling to translate findings into meaningful recommendations that drive business decisions Oversee social analysis, monitoring and analyze social media conversation to inform social strategy and content, partnering with the social team to create meaningful content that generates growth and engagement Partner cohesively with the broader teams (CMI, Brand Strategy, Media, Digital); avoid silos and seek out ways to add value by synthesizing and collaborating across the teams Provide compelling employee and pet parent insights to inspire strategic roadmaps for growth and map consumer (pet parent) journeys to uncover key moments of interaction Leverage technical skills to navigate multiple systems and platforms to sync disparate data sources and identify actionable insights Focus on continual improvement, identifying opportunities to create meaningful connections across touchpoints with each and every pet parent Collaborate across the BLUE Insights function to leverage integrated best practices MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have 5+ years of relevant work experience in market research/consumer insights fields Comfortable finding meaning in the data, turning data into stories and translating insights into actionable recommendations Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate campaign performance to internal and external stakeholders Robust knowledge and experience using social listening tools such as Brandwatch, Synthesio, Khoros, Social Bakers, or Sprinklr Established expertise of Excel, PowerPoint, Qualtrics, and SPSS Familiarity with brand health trackers and brand equity KPIs Experience distilling complex and high volumes of data into simple KPIs, data visualization, scorecards Demonstrated agility in adapting to changing needs and navigating ambiguity Large scale project and change management experience, with strength in organization and detail orientation Strong personal motivation and ability to effectively work independently as well as collaboratively across multiple functions Has capacity to learn new technologies that support advanced analytics PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor or Masters degree in Business, Psychology, Communications, Marketing or other related area Moderator training and experience preferred Tableau, PowerBI, R, Python, and/or SQL Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity; self-directed Preferred location would be Wilton, CT COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
