About the role

GENERAL DESCRIPTION – PURPOSE OF ROLE: The EHS Generalist will provide support to the Plant’s Safety, Environmental, and training programs. This position serves as a platform’s resource relating to safety management, ensuring employee education and compliance with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist in developing and leading hands-on safety related trainings. Track and schedule required trainings on a monthly basis. Executes initiatives, programs, procedures, reports, permits and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance. Conducts regulatory review and impacts analysis of moderate scope and complexity. Initiate’s process changes as needed. Manages relationships across other departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations. Interact with employees and promote relationships, learn the task employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Support other departments in training needs including organization, structure, scheduling, and leading. Assist in new hire on boarding. Serves as site HSE representative in HSE Manager’s absence. Serves as a technical resource for OSHA compliance measures: develop and implement required, written OSHA programs and procedures and ensure site compliance. Oversees site's behavior-based safety process and provide observer training. Supports CI initiatives regarding HSE implications. Provides on-site representation/communications for all shifts. Responds to after-hours injury management. Other duties as deemed necessary by management. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong understanding of factory equipment, manufacturing operations, and EH&S management systems. Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization. Strong leadership, teamwork, technical, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Record keeping, and organizational skills. Ability to read, write and understand English. Ability to stand for prolong periods of time and work in hot and dusty and hot environments. Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Willingness to flex schedule including after business hours. High School diploma or GED required. PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE: BA/BS degree in related field or 5+ years EHS experience. Experience in classroom and on the floor training. Understands the importance of safety and quality. Detail oriented and able to multi-task.
