
Senior Manager, Integration
About the role
OVERVIEW Our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Team is on a journey to build capabilities and bring in new talent to reshape our portfolio for growth in service to enterprise strategic objectives. We will pursue all transaction types including acquisitions, divestitures, partnerships, joint ventures and equity investments to accelerate our growth goals. Our work will facilitate capital deployment decisions and drive post-close value creation for shareholders. This role will be part of the M&A team that reports into the Strategy & Growth organization and works closely with business leaders and the integration leads from the different functions (HR, IT, legal, etc.). We are looking for a proactive leader who will help shape the M&A integration approach for a $36B+ market cap company and raise the strategic profile of integration within the company. This role is a direct report to the VP, M&A for General Mills. Strong performance in this role can lead to in role or organizational advancement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the Integration Management Office (IMO), driving on time day-to-day project execution management, including development of project masterplan, integration/separation plans, managing and coaching cross-functional teams, managing weekly integration/separation team meetings and driving proactive issue resolution Lead integration/separation of a portfolio of acquisitions/divestitures at a global level from business case development to execution and post-closing value capture, incorporating key issues discovered through diligence Engage with executive sponsor and business and functional leaders to set the integration/separation vision and scope, operating model, integration/separation approach and organization structure for each acquisition/separation aligned to the strategic goals of the acquisition/divestiture Support the integration lead assigned to individual deals with the development of the integration plan and budget reflecting the strategic and financial goals and risks Lead the various business and functional integration/separation work stream leaders ensuring delivery of key project milestones and that inter-dependencies of their work with other work streams are considered and planned for accordingly Lead and support the development of acquisition key performance metrics aligned with transaction value drivers and synergy plan to drive performance management Establish a governance program of regular progress reporting and performance metrics including revenue and cost synergies for each acquisition Identify past acquisitions that are not performing to plan and require support. Work with the executive sponsor to create an action plan and support its execution Lead the refinement of integration/separation playbooks that incorporate prior experience and industry best practices across all key integration/separation work streams Facilitate rapid decision making by anticipating problems and escalating issues when required and making recommendations for course corrections as appropriate In partnership with the VP, M&A, create the organization vision for a sustainable IMO and drive organization design execution MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 8+ years business experience in Strategy, Business Operations and Integration including a minimum of 3 years of experience in Integration Proven track record in M&A integration either within a publicly traded company or a top tier strategy or operations consulting Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, executing against both individually as well as broader strategic initiatives Excellent project management skills - experience with cross-functional, large-scale integration programs to drive effective integration planning and management Ability to influence at all levels of the company Willingness to understand business model, operational and strategic drivers of the company Ability to weigh competing needs, prioritize and come to fair recommendations Strong analytical, strategic and innovative thinker with creative problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA Experience working in a fast moving and high-pressured environment Experience in consumer foods industry Experience working across geographies and with a deal landscape in multiple markets Experience successfully working on both acquisition integration as well as disposition projects COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
