Job Overview: This team member will leverage a consultative framework to prepare and deliver actionable insights to indirect sourcing operations leaders and global buyers on tail spend consolidation opportunities and root causes of non-compliance and tail creep in their categories. Together, these reports will expose opportunities to drive incremental spend under management, deliver incremental Total Value, prevent leakage of pre-committed Total Value, expose operational cost avoidance opportunities and mitigate business risk. Insights delivered will be leveraged to build category operational execution plans (or playbooks) that will tie GSOC buyer support capabilities (and teams) to lagging metrics or non-compliance/tail creep root causes for continuous improvement initiatives. In partnership with GMI’s Sourcing Vision Product Team, this consultant will oversee development and maintenance of reports and data pulls associated with this role. While actual development will be owned by the product team, this consultant will be the SME on underlying data sets and sources (and the regional category nuances that go with them). This role provides exposure to global Indirect Sourcing, specifically the Supply Chain, Marketing & Corporate Services categories. This consultant will work directly with associated business stakeholders, buyers, IT support, 3rrd party support and internal sourcing operations team members to ensure the information provided is driving true business value. Responsibilities: 20% of Time Preparing and maintaining reports and underlying data-source connections; analyzing data to tease out critical insights and recommendations for regional category buyers and sourcing operations leaders
- Own roadmap and maintenance of Tail and Compliance Reports o Maintain KPI/Metric definitions for clear understanding of data sources and benchmarks o Update, design and develop models/dashboards/scorecards in Spotfire / Tableau/Excel o Monitor performance of the business-critical dashboards / models o Review and ensure clean data from different systems/ Data sources (SAP,SAP BW,Coupa,Maximo,MFG Pro,SMART by GEP,Data Lake) o Format Data– Structuring/ Mapping different data sets into Master views for dashboards o Leverage data from above platforms and work towards Automation/Streamlining Reports/Dashboards o Innovate and build predictive models
- Drive innovation and Tail and Compliance Reporting process improvements o Innovate & provide expertise /insights in developing/ implementing the new capabilities o Work closely with the COE Leads, Buyers ,Project Managers, Sr. Managers, Directors to understand their needs and ensure continued value delivery o Use the business problems to build innovative proof of concepts o Scale the proof of concepts to production ready models with help of IT teams 60% of Time Build pipeline and conduct Tail and Compliance Consultations with COE lead/Ops Lead/Buyers to build consensus on category buying strategies and resulting operational execution plans/initiatives and playbook documentation to prioritize in FY.
- Interview regional category buyers and ops support to ensure underlying data sets, filer criteria and report views are adjusted for regional category nuances prior to conducting a consultation or read-out
- Be a storyteller to explain the ‘why & how’ of your data driven recommendations to cross-functional teams around… o New Total Value Opportunities o Missed Opportunities/Total Value Leakage o Operational Cost Avoidance Opportunities o Risk
- Provide Tail Spend Bidding support by managing & executing bids if required 20 % of Time Process leadership and team mentorship
- Operate with high level of engagement with partner teams both internal & external that enables identification and proposal of potential standard process improvements.
- Opportunity assessment leveraging data & analysis to provide recommendations to the sourcing organization
- Develop & Provide Compliance reporting on transactional Data on tail spend , non-compliance and root cause engagement and buying behaviors.
- Introduce Transactional Tail Spend Strategies and provide necessary consultations to reduce operational cost
- Develop standard operating procedures/OPL’s /Templates/Standard Reports
- Understanding of key sourcing processes that aid in decision making
- Lead the execution of training, dashboard and tool training for various needs within organization
- Attending Webinars/Conference & share the new technologies / industry practices with the team
- Ability to operate with a Continuous Improvement Mindset and drive innovative solutions

- Project Management Education Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters Preferred Degree Requirements: Masters Preferred Major Area of Study: BE, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management Required Professional Certifications: Data Engineer Preferred Professional Certifications: Predictive Analytics Experience Minimum years of related experience required: 5+ Years Preferred years of related experience: 5-7Years Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to boil complex metrics and underlying sourcing operations processes down into digestible insights for buyers and leaders that are not involved in low-level execution; ability to tease out and understand customer needs to ensure COE is delivering solutions and insights in alignment with business needs Agile mindset; ability to interpret and reinterpret data sets with evolving category strategy in mind – highlighting different insights and opportunities based off stakeholder input Exemplary organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy; clear communication on timelines and pipeline prioritization/timing so impacted teams can align schedules/priorities Entrepreneurial mindset; recruiting business and selling services, marketing GSOC capabilities/solutions Self-starter; bias for action with ability to deliver outstanding results through task prioritization and time management Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau Knowledge of Spotfire ,Power Bi & Inventory Analysis would be a nice to have Comfortable in statistical analysis, modeling, clustering and data mining techniques to identify trends and insights Ability to incorporate a variety of data sources in an analysis (HDFS, Oracle databases, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS) Number sense, ability to identify questionable data, dig in & address it Experience with machine learning a plus Mathematical & statistical background a plus Competencies/Behaviors required for job: Communication

Future strategic sourcing opportunities may involve global purchasing category assessment, business intelligence, financial systems integration, and other activities directly related to process improvement and productivity.
