About the role

Job Description Summary

The GE Celma Repair Engineer will provide technical knowledge and support with respect to New Repairs Industrialization of Aircraft Engine Parts.

In this role the Repair Engineer will be responsible to build the manufacturing sequence to repair mechanical components, define the concept of inspection, machining, welding and conforming tolls, review and approve technical drawings, define calibration requirements and lead trial runs on the repair shop.

Integration and development of administrative and technical processes that meet business needs across the organization will require strong leadership capacity.

Job Description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop Repair Operations Sequence that meets ESM requirements considering Safety, Quality, Delivering, Cost and Productivity.

Develop tooling concepts to be used on the repair. Provide technical support to Tool Designers on material selection, tolerance (linear and geometric) definition to meet the repair limits.

Strong follow-up on the shop during the repair industrialization. Special attention on documentation, technical execution of the operation, process parameters definition, tooling try-out and dimensional results.

Work with the Cost Team and Six Sigma Team to understand the shop needs and future repair development.

Participate in internal and external technical meetings to solve complex problems as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Component Repair Team.

Lead technical initiatives on the shop to support the business metrics.

Available to work in shifts to support the NPI Team whenever necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: Technical Skills

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Fluent in English and Portuguese.

Demonstrated desire to develop technical expertise.

Strong Technical knowledge on Metrology, Drawing Interpretation (mainly on Third Angle Projection), Conventional Mechanical Transformation Processes and Tooling Design.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Administrative Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Developed capacity on planning to meet the targets without supervision.

Good initiative skills to employ clear direction on specific projects.

Excellent capacity to conduct follow-up of critical activities.

Excellent capacity to manage scarce resources and time.

Capable to execute multiple activities simultaneously.

Capable to conduct deep planning reviews – should be able to organize productive meetings and make strategic changes to adjust potential planning changes.

DESIRED:

· Statistics knowledge to support decision making processes.

· Problem Solving tools knowledge – DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing Tools.
