Job Description Summary

Position Summary: GE Aerospace Systems Australia conducts repairs on both civil and military aviation components for the APAC region. This role is a vital member of the team, providing essential operational support to ensure the smooth, efficient and compliant running of the business
The Supply Chain Execution Specialist executes and supports sourcing, planning and logistics activities to enable effective material flow, accurate inventory and robust supplier and logistics relationships. The focus is on operational execution, analysis and continuous improvement to support the Sourcing & Planning Manager in delivering business objectives.

Responsible for the following processes:

  • Supply chain and logistics day-to-day processes
  • Supplier relationship support, performance data collection
  • Supplier contract preparation, negotiations and administration
  • Logistics partner relationships, management of contracts, cost monitoring and negotiations
  • Adherence to customs, trade compliance and ITAR requirements
  • Annual stocktake process, working with the logistics team to plan and execute
  • Support planning and forecasting for spares and materials
  • Participation in continuous improvement and lean initiatives

Role Overview:

Based in Brisbane, reporting to the Sourcing & Planning Manager, this position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of supply chain processes, including building and supporting supplier relationships, contributing to performance reviews, and assisting with contract administration.

There is a strong focus on logistics relationships, contract support, cost visibility and coordination of freight. The role is responsible for the annual stocktake analysis in partnership with the logistics team and providing support to planning and forecasting to ensure effective, efficient and uninterrupted aviation repair operations. The position also contributes to continuous improvement activities, including process mapping and lean initiatives.

Sites supported include 4 locations across the region: Brisbane (QLD), Richmond and Newcastle (NSW), and Singapore.

This position supports the delivery and continual improvement of key operational metrics including:

On Time Delivery (OTD) Yield Quality escapes Inventory Levels Stocktake requirements and accuracy Work in progress (WIP) Supplier Performance Safety Performance

This role supports the business in supply chain, logistics, planning, customs and compliance to enable delivery of quality maintenance services to our customers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning or a related field
  • Experience with high-priority global supply chains and logistics distribution processes
  • Clear understanding of AS9120, import/export and ITAR requirements and their practical application
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, standards and requirements, with the ability to apply and support them in daily operations
  • Solid knowledge of stocktake processes and inventory planning, with experience contributing to supplier performance reviews and commercial discussions
  • Proven advanced Excel skills to support demanding analysis and reporting with large datasets
  • Experience in contract support, including development, negotiations and managing price changes
  • Strong customer and supplier liaison skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Proven ability to work with diverse teams and contribute to coaching, mentoring and facilitating change
  • Experience integrating input from multiple stakeholders into processes, reports and decisions
  • Experience with lean principles and participation in continuous improvement projects
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance if required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability and flexibility to work across multiple time zones, including local and overseas (US and UK)
  • Working knowledge of aircraft regulations, standards and quality frameworks, including AS9120
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external organisations
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems and demonstrated ability to contribute to required documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Formal lean qualifications and/or practical lean experience
