The Grand Rapids site is on an exciting Lean transformation journey! For more than 15 years, our manufacturing facilities in Grand Rapids have helped fuel the growth and success of GE Aerospace. Role Overview

The FLIGHT DECK Facilitator plays an integral role in executing the sites FLIGHT DECK (Lean) transformation strategy. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement in the shop, training others, and applying Lean tools such as 5S, visual management, waste identification, and basic problem solving.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote a Lean culture and drive continuous improvement using FLIGHT DECK
  • Conduct training, promote, and practice basic Lean principles and tools
  • Support teams in the application of basic Lean tools, such as 5S and visual management, across the shop
  • Drive sustainment of improvements in coordination with team Coaches and support staff
  • Apply basic problem-solving skills in support of cell Daily Management processes
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams through Kaizen events
  • Facilitate training in FLIGHT DECK fundamentals and other applicable Lean tools

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university (or a High School diploma / GED with at least 2 years of experience in process improvement)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience applying basic Lean concepts (e.g., 5S, visual management, etc.)
  • Collaborative, with strong written and oral communication
  • Ability to influence without direct authority
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn
  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively
  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
