Job Description Summary
The GE Aerospace Global Events team provides conference, meeting, and tradeshow management worldwide, leveraging project management and event planning expertise to execute world-class events that support the company’s brand and business objectives. In this role, you will represent GE Aerospace by leading a portfolio of high-visibility customer and executive events around the globe.
You will be part of a team of experienced event managers and will report to the Head of Events. You will be responsible for end-to-end planning and flawless execution of events that enhance GE Aerospace’s brand, strengthen customer relationships, and support key commercial and strategic priorities.
Job Description Key Responsibilities
Event Execution – Strategy, Planning, Logistics & On-site Leadership
- Lead and execute Tier 2 & 3 global conferences, meetings, and events with a primary focus on external customers
- Clarify event objectives with business stakeholders; define target audience, key messages, and success metrics.
- Develop comprehensive project plans including scope, timelines, milestones, roles and responsibilities, risk/issue tracking, and contingency plans.
- Design event agendas and experiences (content flow, session formats, technology, engagement tactics) that align with business goals and participant needs.
- Manage end-to-end event logistics including venue selection and contracting, room layouts, F&B, audio-visual, transportation, accommodations, and on-site staffing plans.
- Oversee registration processes (platform configuration, attendee communications, reporting) in partnership with registration and digital teams.
- Lead pre-event briefings with suppliers, venues, and internal teams to align on objectives, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Provide on-site leadership at shows, meetings, conferences, and events, serving as the primary contact for stakeholders, vendors, and venue partners.
- Monitor event execution in real time, proactively addressing issues and making sound decisions that protect safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Create and manage post-event evaluations, including surveys and debriefs, and develop post-conference summaries, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Apply GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK principles to the role by building and refining standard work, checklists, and templates that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the event portfolio.
Financial Management & Measurement:
- Develop and manage event budgets, including vendor sourcing, RFPs, and contract negotiations aligned with GE Aerospace guidelines.
- Track and report expenses accurately and on time; ensure completion of payment and billing processes in partnership with finance and sourcing.
- Measure event performance against defined objectives and key business priorities; provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement and future planning.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Engage and align stakeholders across business units, marketing, communications, and commercial teams to ensure event objectives and messaging are consistent.
- Coordinate with fellow event managers, other event planners, and business leaders to assure synergy and consistent standards across GE Aerospace divisions and within the Global Events team.
- Build and maintain a high-quality network of hospitality, venue, production, and event technology partners.
- Proactively identify and escalate potential client, program, or delivery issues and drive timely resolution.
- Leverage strong cross-cultural collaboration skills to work across time zones and navigate regional regulations and business norms.
Compliance, Brand & Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional hospitality and guest experiences for customers and executives.
- Provide appropriate settings and experiences that enable GE leaders to meet with customers and build strong, long-term business relationships.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal to ensure all events adhere to GE Aerospace rules of conduct, customer entertainment policies, and applicable external regulations.
- Ensure brand alignment across all event touchpoints (signage, presentations, collateral, demos, and digital experiences).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
- OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a global event planning or event management role
- 3-5 years experience planning large and mid-sized events
- Ability to travel up to 50%, including international travel and occasional weekends/extended hours
Desired Qualifications & Characteristics
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or equivalent industry accreditation
- Significant experience leading complex, multi-day, global events for executive and/or customer audiences
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
- Calm and resourceful under pressure, with the flexibility and creativity to implement solutions in rapidly changing environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence and present to senior leaders
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with colleagues, leaders at all levels, customers, and external partners
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented, with a track record of cross-functional partnership
- Process-oriented and detail-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset and comfort working with metrics and data
- Familiarity with B2B and/or aerospace/industrial sectors is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with international teams (additional language fluency a plus
- Computer proficiency, including experience with:
- Cvent or similar event management platforms
- Project management tools
- Microsoft Power
Point and Excel:
The base pay range for this position is $98,000.00 - 131,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on 4/28/26.
