Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team.
Employee will own supplier results and drive quality improvements for assigned suppliers. Select and develop new suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. Has in-depth knowledge of quality practices and how own area integrates with others in the business. Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve business level priorities and accomplish projects with high impact.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities

  • • Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, performance monitoring, new product introduction and readiness, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. Collaborates with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. Demonstrates technical understanding of engineering drawings and ability to manage vendors and solve problems.
  • • Exhibits specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in supplier quality. Serves as a best practice leader and quality resource to the business. Contributes to strategy and policy development and ensures delivery within area of responsibility.
  • • Skilled influencer, able to communicate complex messages to others. May lead cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement on projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Develops strong networks and is able to work through complex issues to build consensus with the team.
  • • Drives improvements to approaches, projects and programs supporting the business organization and ways of working. Improves quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Working within broad guidelines and policies, roles at this level have moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of evaluative judgment.
  • • Uses sound judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems that impact the function as well as cross-functional impact. Creative problem solver, using new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise with data analysis to support recommendations. Leverages internal and external resources to arrive at decisions.
  • • May act as a program focal to be a primary point of contact and coordinate activities for the team to achieve successful program outcomes. Ability to see high level business objectives and break them down into actionable tasks. Ensure program objectives are met by managing timelines, resources and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university ( or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of Supplier Quality / Supplier Development experience) + Minimum of 5 years of (Supplier Quality / Supplier Development) experience .
  • Ability to travel as needed to supplier locations.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. Citizens
  • Must have or qualify for a U.S. Government Secret Clearance Desired Characteristics
