Job Description

The Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

  • Execute the analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering principals, material knowledge and general understanding of gas turbines operational environment
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
  • As necessary, make decisions affecting airworthiness and environmental protection as per delegation in Design Organization Handbook

Requirements:

  • This role requires 1-2 years of experience in the stress and life analysis disciplines
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency in English language

Desired:

  • Strong desire to grow in stress analysis and lifing
  • Familiarity with FEA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Nonlinear static stress analysis of static structures and rotating engine components (nonlinear friction contacts, preloads, nonuniform thermal gradient, pressure loads)
  • Basic knowledge of APDL macros
  • Convergence troubleshooting
  • CAD software – NX, Meshing tools – Workbench Ansys APDL
