Job Description Summary

As New Product & Technology Introduction (NPI & NTI) Leader for the Rivalta Plant, you will act as a key interface between Engineering, Supply Chain and customer-facing teams, with a strong focus on product and manufacturing readiness, flawless execution and on-time delivery. In this role, you will directly impact the team’s ability to achieve its service, quality and timeliness targets, in line with company commercial policies.You will have autonomy to pursue commercial objectives within defined budgets and operational guidelines, including a moderate degree of freedom to enter into and execute commercial arrangements. Strong commercial judgment will be essential to secure the outcomes required by the business.

Job Description

As New Product & Technology Introduction Leader, you will be the key reference for all new programs developed at the Rivalta plant.

You will manage NPI from the initial costing phase (cost estimation, variable cost and P&E) through to production launch. The goal for each program is to ensure that, at the start of production, there is a robust industrial process, fully aligned with product requirements and program milestones.

All industrialization phases will be monitored through continuous tracking of Production Readiness KPIs (Deliveries, Design for Manufacturing, Technical Validation, Process Stability, FTY, Defects per Unit, Scrap, APQP and Cost).

The role is critical in interfacing not only with the Engineering team, but also within the GSC organization, in particular with the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the industrialization process will be managed accordingly with the plan of the new program and that the "detailed" industrialization activities entrusted to the Plant Manufacturing Engineer team will be carried out in adherence with the Design and "preliminary" activities entrusted to Engineering and Advance Manufacturing respectively.

  • Coordinate project management for all the programs working in strong connections with technical, productions and logistics teams.

  • Define the priorities of the all the above teams in order to assure the achievement of the industrialization plan of each program.

  • Identify a common approach and standard work to manage activities.

  • Define and implement a robust DMS for all the activities related to the industrialization and production of NPI and assure the integration within the DMS of the Plant at each level (LCC, CCC, PCC, RCC).

  • Drive the teams to achieve the Production Readiness and Producibility Review on NPI programs.

  • Facilitate continuous improvement on NPI activities, increase programs profitability of current programs in accordance with business strategies.

  • Support in the identification and purchasing of new measurement technologies/equipment.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical / Aeronautical Engineering.

  • Several years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Program Management.

  • Experience in Project Management and management of structured working teams.

  • Ability to set and monitor multiple priorities, coordinate projects/activities of others.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as per GE Leadership Behaviors

  • Fluent English and Italian, oral and written

  • Work visa as required by local regulations

Desired characteristics

  • Knowledge of GE engineering, manufacturing, and design processes.

  • Knowledge of Transmission and Low Pressure Turbine architectures for relevant technical requirements, design solutions, technologies, validation/certification approach.

  • Strong process discipline with sound analytic and statistical skills.

  • Financial and business acumen.

  • Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion.
