work depends on a Help Desk Technician joining our team to support our government client’s activities in the Northern Virginia locations.
**At GDIT, people are our differentiator.**As a Help Desk Technician supports and
manages the responsibilities of the successful completion of all tasks in assigned projects.
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, and/or systems hardware and software.
- Screens, refers and diagnoses internal inquiries and work requests as they relate to maintenance of personal computers and related systems.
- Assists with the installation, configuration, and upgrade of computer hardware and software.
- Provides end-user software troubleshooting and support.
- Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions.
- Provides troubleshooting and support.
- Assists in the administration of e-mail systems.
- Provides phone and help-desk support for local and off-site users.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Requires a AA/AS. 3+ years of directly related experience supporting help desk operations or customer service.
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Must possess appropriate and current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment; either valid CompTIA A+ CE, CompTIA Network+ CE, CompTIA Security+ CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)-Security.
- CompTIA Security+ CE is the preferred certification.
- In addition must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Training within six (6) months of Hire Date.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $26.44 - $35.78. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
