Job Description Summary
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer – UI to lead the design, development, and deployment of cloud‑native, multi‑tenant, and highly scalable SaaS web applications. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in modern frontend technologies along with strong architectural judgment to build UI platforms that scale across customers, regions, and environments.As a Staff Engineer, you will define UI architecture for SaaS products, drive best practices for performance, security, and reliability, and partner closely with backend, cloud, DevOps, and product teams. You will remain deeply hands-on while influencing technical direction, ensuring that UI systems are resilient, observable, and optimized for cloud-native deployment models.

Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS user interfaces that scale across customers, regions, and deployments.
- Build modular, reusable, and configurable UI platforms supporting tenant isolation, feature flags, and customer-specific customization.
- Lead frontend architecture decisions for scalability, performance, security, and maintainability in SaaS environments.
- Design and implement adaptive, responsive, and accessible UIs optimized for diverse devices and usage patterns.
- Drive UI performance optimization for large-scale SaaS applications, including load-time optimization, runtime performance, and efficient state management.
- Develop and maintain modern UI frameworks, web components, and shared libraries used across multiple products and teams.
- Own and evolve frontend build systems and tooling aligned with cloud-native deployment pipelines.
- Implement robust testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to ensure quality in continuously deployed SaaS platforms.
- Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to support CI/CD pipelines for build, test, scan, and deployment of UI applications.
- Enable observability and monitoring for UI platforms using RUM, synthetic monitoring, and performance metrics.
- Conduct design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and elevate UI engineering standards across the organization.
- Work closely with UX, Product, and Backend teams to translate SaaS requirements into scalable UI solutions.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on frontend engineering experience, including work on large-scale SaaS or enterprise platforms.
- Strong expertise in: **React (with Hooks)**and Angular
- HTML5, CSS3
- **JavaScript (ES6+, ES2020+)**and TypeScript
- Proven experience building cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS UIs.
- Strong experience in adaptive UI design, performance optimization, and complex UI debugging.
- Hands-on experience with Web Components and modern UI patterns.
- Solid understanding of frontend build systems and tooling.
- Strong experience with testing frameworks: Unit testing: Jest, Vitest, Karma, Jasmine
- End-to-end testing: Cypress, Playwright
- Experience supporting continuous delivery and frequent production deployments.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Lit / Lit Element.
- Experience building or scaling Design Systems for SaaS products.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for build, test, security scanning, and deployment.
- Familiarity with **Real User Monitoring (RUM)**and Synthetic Monitoring in production SaaS environments.
- Knowledge of SaaS security considerations such as tenant isolation and role-based UI controls.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Ability to drive technical direction for UI platforms in a SaaS ecosystem.
- Strong communication skills to influence architecture and design decisions.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and foster high engineering standards.
- Comfortable operating across product, cloud, and platform teams.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.)
