Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Job Description

ü Responsibilities:

ü Below activities shall be performed within stipulated time frame for basic & detail engineering.

ü Preparation of Basic engineering document – design memorandum, Flow diagram, sizing calculation and suppler specification of water, oil, air and utility system, for Hydro Power Plant, as follow:

ü EOT cranes and handling equipment,

ü Cooling water system,

ü Drainage and dewatering system,

ü HVAC system,

ü Fire Protection and Fire detection systems,

ü Lubricating and insulating oil filtration and handling systems,

ü Compressed air systems,

ü Passenger Elevator,

ü Workshop equipment.

ü Evaluation of vendor offer, Technical meeting with vendor, post order activity like Review and get approval of above system documents and drawings from client.

ü Review of various interfaces with internal client for various inputs/interface requirement & keep the record.

ü Good communication skill in English with written & verbal.

ü Good Technical knowledge in Layout & piping.

Contribute to the project reviews with technical inputs and strategies.

ü Exposure to Engineering process & Quality standards.

ü Experience and focus on project delivery.

ü Technical and Risk management experience

ü Contract Review & Analysis

ü Co-ordinating during site Survey and Input collection for engineering.

ü Work statement consolidation with customer and suppliers

ü Manufacturing technical follow-up

ü Supplier KOM & Follow-ups

ü To deliver on time and in budget with quality work within stipulated time frame.

ü Contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise.

ü Implementation of Lean Engineering system and EHS.

Candidate Requirements

Educational Requirements

Graduate Mechanical or Process engineer having minimum 3 to 6-year or (8 – 12yrs) experience.

Knowledge / Experience

He or She should have Engineer graduate with a dynamic professional with nearly 3 to 6 years (8 – 12yrs) of good experience in mechanical BOP & Layout & piping engineering of Hydro power plant or thermal power plant.

Experience of overall technical assessment of tenders and projects.

Strong engineering background, ideally from Mechanical Engineering

Knowledge in E3D/PDMS/ CAD tools.

Design and Engineering of water, oil, and utilities of power plant engineering.

Expertise in basic and detail design engineering practices. Knowledge of AutoCAD, AFT software for pump head and pipe size selection.

Behavioural and Technical Skills / Competencies

ü Should have good client interactions for gathering inputs or requirements for the project.

ü Should have experience of working on design engineering operations involving Conceptual design, flow diagram and P&ID, layout of system and detail design, etc.

ü Should have knowledge of preparing and review of detail working drawings.

ü Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Technical Specifications.

ü Handling Enquiries and floating the Tender Documents.

ü Evaluation of technical submittals by Vendor and approval on the same.

ü Preparing BOQ for services related enquiries of hydro power plant and Cost Estimation of the Project.

ü Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously.

ü Should follow the company integrity program.

ü Should have knowledge about various STD codes of Mechanical systems.

ü Should have good knowledge about EHS/safety rules which shall be considered during layout engineering.
