Job Description Summary
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager – ANZ to lead complex new unit opportunities across Australia and New Zealand as a senior individual contributor. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who enjoys owning deals end to end, building trusted customer relationships, and shaping outcomes through expertise and influence rather than people management.
Job Description
You will act as the primary commercial lead for assigned opportunities, working closely with customers and internal partners across engineering, finance, project delivery, and legal. The role offers significant autonomy, visibility, and impact within the ANZ energy market.
What You Will Do
- Own and lead new unit sales opportunities across Australia and New Zealand, acting as the primary point of contact for customers and partners
- Engage early with developers, EPCs, utilities, and regulators to influence project direction and position technology solutions
- Manage the full sales lifecycle—from opportunity identification and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution
- Develop and execute opportunity‑specific commercial and proposal strategies aligned with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and risk frameworks
- Lead pricing, commercial structuring, and internal approval processes, partnering with finance, risk, legal, and project teams
- Support and participate directly in customer negotiations, bringing experience and sound commercial judgement to complex discussions
- Develop deep understanding of ANZ market dynamics, including planning, permitting, and approval processes for power generation projects
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of market trends, customer priorities, competitor activity, and policy developments across Australia and New Zealand
- Collaborate with Marketing and product teams to support solution positioning and future product development
- Contribute to continuous improvement and Lean initiatives to simplify sales and proposal processes
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in sales, commercial, or business development roles within energy, power generation, or adjacent infrastructure sectors
- Strong exposure to the Australian and/or New Zealand energy markets, including generation, transmission, or large‑scale infrastructure projects
- Experience with combined cycle or thermal power projects is an advantage, but not required
- Proven ability to manage complex, long‑cycle sales opportunities independently
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging at senior customer and partner levels
- Clear, structured communication and presentation skills
- A collaborative working style and the ability to influence outcomes across diverse, cross‑functional teams
- Willingness and ability to travel across ANZ as required (up to ~40%)
Why Join Us
- Play a hands‑on, high‑impact role in shaping power generation projects across Australia and New Zealand
- Work autonomously while being supported by experienced regional and global teams
- Contribute to projects that support energy security, reliability, and the region’s evolving energy mix
- Be part of an inclusive, values‑driven organization that values integrity, collaboration, and diverse perspectives
Our Commitment to Inclusion
We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where different perspectives are valued and everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed.
As GE Vernova is a global organization, working across different time zones, and monitoring, reading and responding to contact outside normal working hours can be expected.
