Job Description
The Team Leader is a key role within the Global Supply Chain Organization, responsible for **leading and coordinating the Warehouse operation and dispatch Teams.**The role combines hands-on materials work with leadership responsibilities to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDIC) performance.
The Team Leader acts as a champion for standards,continuous improvement, and lean flow, ensuring that all processes are executed to the highest levels of compliance, accuracy, efficiency, and team engagement. Reporting to the Materials Manager.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities to:
- Act as a **“Guardian of the Standard”**supported by daily SQDC walks, ensuring strict adherence to EHS guidelines, SAP integrity, Quality requirements and standard work.
- Promote and ensure a strong EHS culture by enforcing safety standards, performing regular assessments, and leading by example
- Develop a culture of SAP transaction discipline to ensure inventory accuracy, integrity and trust in our SAP MRP system
- Champion high standards of housekeeping, 5S and material security, ensuring all the warehouse and dispatch areas meet requirements.
- Monitor and ensure a high service level to facilitate production flow, escalating deviations and driving corrective actions.
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams (Materials, Logistics, Production and Quality) to maintain smooth production flow and shipping dispatch.
- Execute regular standard work audits and implement corrective actions with the team.
- Lead the daily management meeting, maintaining the Daily Management Board and use structured problem-solving tools to encourage team participation.
- Identify areas for Quality improvement, contributing to solutions leading to a reduction in product kitting errors.
- Plan resource and loading based on forecasted demand, ensuring optimal staffing and material availability.
- Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen activities; maintain idea boards and lead regular improvement sessions.
- Maintain training matrix and lead skill development to support flexibility and cell coverage.
- Conduct team performance reviews and support development plans for material team members.
- Perform hands-on warehouse operations as required to support team and production needs.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven work experience in Warehouse management, team leadership experience would be an advantage
- Previous experience working with SAP
- Display GE Vernova Leadership Behaviours – humility, transparency and focus.
- Proactive problem solver with structured approach to issue resolution.
- Able to organize and prioritize workload to meet daily and takt-based production and shipping targets.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage team and stakeholders.
- Computer literate, with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
Desirable Criteria:
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, particularly flow principles, takt time, and waste elimination.
- Understanding of SQDC management systems and use of visual management tools.
- High attention to detail and commitment to first-time quality.
- SAP technical proficiency with capability to perform all transactions to standard.
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organized with a track record of accountability.
