• Design Engineering Drafting, contributes to the team responsible for the development of Design Engineering activities in support the New Plants Engineering projects. The Technical Leader will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to successfully deliver New Nuclear Plant Projects

• Essential Responsibilities

• Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues

• Manage project work schedules and priorities

• Mentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projects

• Work within a team environment to execute work plans within budget and schedule

• Support drafting of civil and mechanical design and/or equipment construction activities, respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals

• Support the certification processes for GE Products (e.g. BWRX-300, VTR, Natrium) to address all US NRC (or other nuclear regulator) design certification requirements

• Establish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations (e.g.; US, other national, or global region)

• Have other duties as assigned by Manager

• Interface with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners, licensing, the NRC and international regulatory authorities on technical issues

• Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents

• Support GVH quality requirements, including participation in design reviews, initiating and

• Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures

• Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments

• Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or University;

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role.

• Eligibility Requirements

• The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.

• This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.Desired Qualifications

• Master's Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University

• Minimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred.

• Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience

• Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals

• Strong communication and writing skills and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments

• Strong facilitation, team building, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of project management.

• Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)

• Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills

• Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.

• Detail-oriented and accountable for results.

• Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment

• A self-starter willing to take initiative

• Professional Engineer registration in one or more states

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
