Job Description Summary

The Lead Sourcing Specialist – Construction & Installation (Europe) is responsible for leading sourcing activities for Facilities and Construction categories across assigned GE Gas Power sites in Europe, while supporting regional sourcing initiatives across multiple sites. This role partners with internal stakeholders and suppliers to deliver cost, quality, delivery, and service outcomes for construction-related projects and investments.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities (What you will do):

• Lead sourcing activities for Facilities and Construction categories across assigned sites in Europe.

• Support regional sourcing plans and collaborate with global and regional peers on category priorities and initiatives.

• Develop negotiation approaches and lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to achieve business objectives.

• Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including market analysis, RFQ/RFP execution, supplier evaluation, contract development, and sourcing execution.

• Perform cost analysis to support competitive pricing and strong commercial outcomes.

• Drive compliance with sourcing processes, policies, and standard ways of working.

• Partner with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and support sourcing execution.

• Help develop clear scopes of work and sourcing requirements for assigned projects.

• Support supplier development and process improvements to improve cycle time, service levels, and overall sourcing efficiency.

• Track sourcing performance, savings, and other key metrics for assigned categories and projects.

• Serve as a sourcing resource to stakeholders and colleagues for category knowledge, sourcing processes, and execution support.

Required Qualifications (What you will bring):

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

• Significant experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain.

• Significant experience in procurement, sourcing, or project management related to Large Construction Projects.

• Experience in supplier negotiations and commercial contracting within construction or related categories.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with RFQ implementation and execution.

• Strong knowledge of sourcing processes and e-sourcing tools.

• Ability to work across functions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Language: Fluent English required.

Desired Qualifications (What will make you stand out):

• Degree in Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.

• Experience in construction sourcing, contracting, and/or project management.

• Experience in Facilities or other indirect categories such as CAPEX, maintenance, or facility services.

• Experience negotiating non-standard commercial or legal terms and conditions.

• Category management or strategic sourcing experience in a multinational or European environment.

• Strong project management skills.

• Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements and deliver results.

• Fluency in additional European languages is a plus.

Work Arrangement:

• Hybrid - 2 office days/week - applicable upon Employer and People Leader permission.
