Job Description Summary
The Technical Engineering Manager (m/f/d) bears overall responsibility for the technical coordination and management during the bidding phase of projects. This role operates within international teams across the entire technology spectrum of transformer stations – both onshore and offshore, with AIS and GIS systems, flexible AC transmission solutions (FACTS), and renewable energy solutions – for distribution system operators (DSOs), transmission system operators (TSOs), and industrial customers.As a technical project manager in the bidding phase, the Technical Engineering Manager (m/f/d) ensures that all technical requirements of the bid are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements. At the same time, they promote the development of optimized technical solutions and is responsible for managing technical opportunities and risks throughout the bidding process.
Job Description
Your tasks:

Overall responsibility for the technical leadership and coordination of all activities in the bidding phase

Definition and control of the technical project scope, timeline, and resource requirements for the engineering team in the tender

Coordination of interdisciplinary and external stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and interface harmonization

Ensuring compliance with all technical customer requirements, including conducting clause-by-clause analyses and leading technical coordination meetings
-
Promoting knowledge transfer and continuous improvement through lessons-learned activities
-
Scheduling all engineering activities in the tender and monitoring technical coordination across various work packages

Compiling a workload plan for the engineering disciplines
-
Developing an engineering execution strategy

Preparing risk assessments for technical content

Supporting the creation of the execution schedule
Your profile:
-
Completed degree in Electrical Engineering
-
Experience in the technical handling of high-voltage projects (EPC), particularly AC transformer stations or FACTS
-
Proven experience in technical project management in multidisciplinary and international teams with diverse interfaces
-
Strong communication and team skills
-
Leadership skills with clear responsibility for results and the ambition to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget

Willingness to travel approximately 10–20%

Fluent German and English skills

Solid industry knowledge in the field of transmission or distribution networks

Knowledge in one or more of the following engineering areas is advantageous: construction, plant configuration, protection and control technology, network and system studies, electrical design

Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, BIM, or Engineering Base is desirable

Experience with MS Project is advantageous
-
Knowledge in the field of renewable energies is a plus
