OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations:

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

• Automation & Switching: Execute on-air, live broadcasts by switching and coding via the Evertz MediatorX.
• Technical Operations: Utilize SSL Audio Console for live audio mixing. Operate light board and robotic cameras for floor managing. Route LiveU, network and satellite live-shots. Join Zoom meetings and record clips in Bit Central
• Live Coverage: Manage technical needs for both live, streaming and pre-recorded programming.
• Studio Maintenance: Handle physical studio needs including lighting adjustments and floor managing live newscasts.
• Flexibility: Cover vacation and sick leave shifts as assigned to ensure continuous broadcast operations.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience at a broadcast television station.
• Technical Skills: Experience mixing sound for live news and a deep understanding of broadcast automation.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Attributes: Ability to handle multiple tasks under high pressure while maintaining a collaborative, team-first approach to all assignments.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting & Moving: Must be able to lift, carry, and move equipment or studio flooring materials weighing up to50 lbs.
• Technical Mobility: Ability to climb ladders and reach overhead to adjust studio lighting and equipment.
• Extended Shifts: Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for the duration of a live broadcast, often 3 to 5 hours at a time.
• Sensory Acuity: Must have excellent hearing for audio mixing and clear vision for monitoring multiple video feeds and color-coding.
• Availability: Must be able to work flexible hours;early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays are required. KTBC operates 24/7/365.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $24.00-25.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
