Fox TV Stations:

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will support the team behind LiveNOW from FOX, FOX TV Stations’ national live streaming news product. We are a team of passionate content creators leveraging the latest newsroom technologies to seamlessly move between the biggest live events and stories as they happen, keep our viewers informed in real time. LiveNOW is always raw, live and unfiltered, with limited commentary and no opinion.

Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping our live coverage on the air and running smoothly 24/7. This position is based in LiveNOW’s Orlando newsroom and will be an overnight shift.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support live streaming operations, ensuring reliable, high-quality experience for viewers

• Install, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot digital and IP-based broadcast systems

• Work with stream encoders, cloud video systems, cameras, routers, switchers (primarily New Tek Tri Caster), and graphics systems

• Assist in maintaining and improving workflows that support LiveNOW’s mission

• Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts

• Collaborate with editorial teams to support daily operations, improving and evolving workflows to make content fast and easy for audience to watch

• Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Hands-on experience in broadcast operations or digital video/streaming environments

• Strong understanding of control room operations for live television or streaming

• Familiarity with digital streaming technologies, content management systems, and media workflows

• Working knowledge of Tri Caster and production switching equipment preferred

• Current, relevant experience with video compression, encoding, and transmission workflows

• General IT knowledge, including networking and computer systems

• Understanding of video standards and transport protocols

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, live production environment

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $80,000.00-85,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
