ABOUT THE ROLE:

FOX Corporation is looking for a SDE (L2) / Senior Android Engineer for its digital Product Engineering Client Android team. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Object Oriented Programming and native Android application development Skills.

At FOX, Android team builds and maintains applications for a variety of digital platforms using a number of technologies for multitude of FOX's consumer facing apps. Android team seeks a talented Android Application Engineer to join our team in developing, maintaining, optimizing and implementation of new features to our android application.

A qualified candidate should feel comfortable working with a broad range of Native application technologies, possess a strong working knowledge of Android Frameworks, be proficient in Object oriented/Java / kotlin programming, and be able to work with several internal teams and external partners. Should possess excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Should be able to create functional applications that perfectly meet the needs of the product.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Influence the development of individual features and products, integrating best practices and patterns applicable to the Android engineering lifecycle

• Take ownership of end-to-end product quality, from development to maintenance of core app, enhancing reliability and user experience

• Prototype new ideas and explore cutting-edge technologies in mobile technology

• Take ownership of scaling mobile app development efforts across Engineering, offering insights into refining processes and tools to support increased contributors in our architecture and code

• Work collaboratively with team members and internal technology groups to focus on coding standards and best practices

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• At least 4-7 years of experience in working as an android developer.

• BS/MS degree in computer science or software engineering

• Proficient in building mobile applications and mobility solutions, particularly native applications

• Mastery of basic Android components: Activity, Services, Intent, Broadcast Receiver, and Content Provider

• Mastery of Kotlin concepts

• Mastery of Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flows, Jetpack components, Kotlinx Serialization

• Strong experience with Web Service Integration (REST, JSON)

• Experience with Performance, Testing & Tooling

• Experience with Security concept

• Jetpack Security, encryption,Handling OAuth and secure token storage.

• Experience with Modern Architecture : MVVM / MVI patterns using View Model, Live Data, Flow, or State Flow.

• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools – using Android Studio’s Gemini or Git

Hub Copilot or Cursor:

• Understanding of Video Player frameworks
