This is a unique moment to help shape the commercial strategy of a landmark luxury hotel in a city on the rise.
Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco overlooks Yerba Buena Gardens and is located just steps away from the City’s Financial District, Union Square shopping, the Moscone Convention Center, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum—amid the city’s finest cultural and dining venues.
We are actively searching for an experienced and proven leader to become Commercial Director of Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco.
The Role – Overview
The Commercial Director is a key member of the Hotel’s Executive Leadership team, collectively responsible for making strategic and operational decisions. This role leads the commercial strategy across sales, marketing, revenue management, reservations, and public relations to drive revenue performance and sustain the hotel’s unique market positioning in a highly competitive and evolving environment.
The successful candidate will be a proven leader, strategic thinker, motivator, and innovator who is highly collaborative and people-focused.
Key Responsibilities

- People Leadership – Recruit, develop, and lead the commercial team. Foster a positive, high-performance culture.
- Revenue Optimization – Drive RevPAR performance through strategic planning, pricing, and inventory management.
- Commercial Strategy – Oversee marketing, promotions, advertising, and public relations initiatives in alignment with brand positioning.
- Sales Leadership – Maintain key accounts, support major business opportunities, and act as the hotel’s primary commercial leader.
- Performance Management – Set, monitor, and achieve commercial goals across all segments and channels.
- External Relationships – Represent the hotel with key partners such as convention & visitors bureaus, corporate clients, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Senior leadership experience in luxury hotel commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management).
- Proven track record in driving revenue growth, business development, and closing high-value deals.
- Strong financial acumen with expertise in revenue and budget management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment and make sound decisions quickly.
- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and retaining high-performing teams.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in revenue and client management systems preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
